Installed Tiger, now my .mac mail wont stay on the server

I installed Tiger last night and downloaded all my new emails, i have checked my emails on .mac a few times today and there have been none, but when i have just got home, there are 3 new emails sat on my mac, so they have gone straight through the mac server, and a copy has not stayed there on my .mac account,

I have got the box ticked in Mail which says "keep copies of messages for offline viewing"

Any thoughts?
