I have received and installed a 240gb Vertex 3 in my 2010 2.66 MBP. It has been running for two days and so far no issues. It wakes from sleep fine, and it is very fast. I hope to be upgrading to a 2011 in the near future, so that is why I went for the Vertex 3. I paid a $568 for it, which I thought was too much, but now that New Egg has them going for $550 and no stock, I don't feel too bad. Its an exciting time for SSDs and it looks like they seem to have the firmware ready for prime time. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope I don't have any issues. AJA results (1920x1080) for anyone that is interested.

Thanks for the results. I am interested in getting an SSD, but can't help but wonder where the point of diminishing returns is reached. I ran the same tests and got varied results for the read from 110 to 250 but the writes were always 110 (the values were dependant on the block size changes and video size changes, did run in the same size you did). I feel they are respectable results for my HDD (500GB Seagate Momentus XT) and at a fraction of the cost. Making it harder for me to justify the costs, I know they are more durable (and I am careful with my drives and movements of the computer when active),but is there something else I am missing? Thanks for the help, as I would expect better than 2.5X speed for 6X the cost (with half the space).
