Installer.app unresponsive when installing Divx

[Simple Living]

I have OS 10.5.8 Leopard and am trying to install DivX Plus.pkg. Nothing happens and I have to force quit Installer.app and get the message "The application Installer quit while unresponsive."

The Problem Details report was quite long but here it is, including the first Thread id. If you need more, please let me know. I'm grateful for any suggestions!

EDITED TO ADD: Installer.app ONLY does this with DivX. I just installed another .pkg (Onyx) and it worked fine. Is this a DivX issue? Java?
