Recently, I've encountered the "Error: Package download failed" message. I've looked at some sites to fix the problem only to find myself even more stuck.
The first thing I've tried was to install the "Installer fix". I'm not a wiz at anyone of this, so, I just downloaded the fix and see what happens. Turns out that installing this fix created more snags that I can imagine.
It was only that I came here(MacRumors) and found out that the package download error was just a simple matter of the author of the app moving the location of the packages.
Now, since I've installed and then Uninstalled the fix, I'm not able to SSH into my touch. I've used cyberduck and fetch (MAC USER) and seemed have the same error message saying that I'm not able to establish a connection, and or that I've got the username/ password wrong. Well, we all know the username and password off by heart now, so I don't think that's the problem.
I know that the end of the day, all I have to do is to restore the whole thing. But if there's another solution, I'd like to give that a shot, see what the problem really is...
I don't want to appear to be stepping on tails, I'm just a noob wanting to familiarize with my touch to get the most out of it.
thanx all
