Installer packages from downloaded app and what to do with them?

Dear members,

After downloading an app their is sometimes an installer package in my HD library. Is it ok to delete this?

Yes. You can also delete any DMG files too. As long as the actual app is saved on your computer.

Before you delete them, though, make sure you have a place for the uninstaller scripts if an uninstaller is included with the app.

ETA: I should say that before you delete any DMGs, make sure you've safely stored any uninstaller scripts where you can remember them if you need them.

Their is no way i'd delete them with out first talking to apple care. Since they are in my HD library it would be a disaster. Thanks to everyone for the advice. The files stay their!
