Hey again,

After buying an iMac G4, I need some help installing 10.5. The iMac came with Linux in the Master Boot Record, so I got hold of ASD 2.1.5 which seems to be for my iMac. I burnt it to a CD-R, but it won't read it at all? The Linux MBR says Boot From CD, so I press C (and I've tried holding in C while booting), but it reads the disk and then stops. Any ideas?

Also, does the iMac G4 (model: M6498) have the ability to read DVD+R DL?

Thanks!

Also, hold the OPTION key while booting.

That will give you Apple's boot selector instead of the Linux MBR.
The MBR is on disk, Apple's boot selector is in firmware.

As stated, Leopard will only install on 867mhz and faster (unless you hack it).

I can't help you with the Linux problem, I don't know the answer, but all of the iMac G4's came with either combo drives or super drives, both of which can read a DVD, however, Everymac's specs for each version of your model only show them reading DVD-R, nothing about DVD+R or DL DVD's.

Thanks :)

Your iMac G4 has to have a CPU speed greater than 867MHz or Leopard won't load without using something like "Leopard Assist" (Google it)

My iMac has 1Ghz CPU speed :)
