I have a working Parallels 7 VM with 10.6.8 and I want to install 10.8 in this VM

I haven't had much success so far. After downloading the installer from the App Store from inside the VM, it will install for 20-30 minutes before erroring out, saying that it can't install on this machine. Restarting the VM results in it kernel panicking, but I have a backup copy of the VM so I can start over.

Before I re-download 4GB I would like to hear if anyone has gotten it to work and how ?

The real machine is a Mac Mini Server, running 10.6.8. The VM is set to use two CPU's and 2GB of RAM.

You my ask "why?". I depend on some old PowerPC programs for a little while yet, but I need 10.8 for testing.
