Hi
I have just got myself a new hard drive I want to use as my start-up disk and operating disk....I have installed it just like I have done in the past with my extra internal disk but it does not show up at all!! Its a 500gbDeckstar 7K500 SATA11 16mb and according to macupgrades where I purchased it it should be compatible with my 1.8MHz single core G5 PowerMac...I cant see it anywhere, can anyone help??? Is this the wrong disk or could it be faulty???? Heeelp!!

Can you get it to show in Disk Utility??

If so, zero out the data - i am working from memory, so apologies, but its all there in disk utility.

Can someone else fill in the blanks??

Which slot do you have it in now?

If you have it in "B," you may have to put it in "A" to see it and install files on it. Had to do this with my last new drive on my PM.

missing disk

Hi,
No, it does not show at all! If it wasnt because macupgrade says its compatible with my G5 1.8 single core I would think it its the wrong model...
