I'm assuming you're replacing the original internal HDD. If this is the case, install either SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner. Then you are left with two options:
1. If you have an external drive, clone the internal drive to it. Install the new internal HDD, and clone it from the external drive.
2. If you don't have an external drive, install the new HDD into an enclosure, clone to it, and install it into your computer.
If you don't have the installation cd, it is a good idea to keep a bootable clone HDD. It can be a life saver.
