Installing a SSD in a 2008 iMac - can I just go straight to Lion?

Can I? Id hate to have to install Leopard, Snow Leopard and finally Lion. Want to do a clean install with no backup.

Make a bootable install image, on DVD or USB drive:

I used this method to "clean install" Lion on my four computers.
