the method is easy as can be. the difficulty is screwing it onto the board with microscopic screws and connecting the antenna leads. If you are impatient, clumsy, or have large hands, it could turn out to be way more difficult than it should be. Just make sure you take your time and invest in a good, small, magnetic screwdriver.

Alright thanks. Guess Ill give it a shot. Dont really feel like lugging my tower into an applestore to have them do it for me.

agreed, i did it in my machine just last week (09 pro) the hardest bit for me was trying not to mess up when connecting the antenna wires, wot i did was to get them aligned over the socket and then press down gently with a flathead screwdriver as my fingers are way too big.

Besides the $50 price tag, is installation free from Apple? Or is there another fee for that?

I just got one, there was 2, one a little cheaper but something looked fishy so I ordered the other one that was from apple, cant wait to get this in:)

I got one a few months back on Ebay for 50 or so and it was a original from apple. It works great go with a original.

B. Installation for me was ok except i did not know about the antenna's so i did not install them and i had a hell of a time figuring out why it was not working all the time. So install was easy except the antenna are behind the motherboard hidden. I grabbed the antenna from the Bluetooth board and just followed it back. I am unsure if this is different on the 08 from the 09 like you have but that is what i did.

Be careful with the antenna they are very easy to break from what i have read since then.

Either way i would do it yourself. It is cheaper and give you the great feeling of i am the **** because i did it myself. LOL.

Ebay best choice for finding the board tho. IMO.

Good Luck
