Installing an old version of Logic to run independently of a new version

Hello,

Just wondering if any one can help?

I am currently running Logic 9 on my macbook and would like to install my version on Logic 8 to run independently, preferably on a separate partition on my hard drive.

But when i try to install my Logic 8, it wont let me as it recognises that i have Logic 9 installed.

What's the best way to achieve this?
