alright I'm a new mac user so i hope i dont get too much hate but i have a weird problem (i guess) when installing apps. When i drag the app to the applications folder then drag it to my dock, it shows the icon fine on the dock, but in the applications stack in my dock it doesnt. ill post a picture to show what i mean. can anyone explain why it does this?

Apps have to be on the left side of the divider (the dashed line to the right of System Prefs in your pic) in the Dock. The right side is reserved for Stacks, Volumes, and the Trash.

Unless I am misunderstanding...

I get that for icons even in finder. App icons reside within the app it self, so either it's a security feature (like when you open the app for the first time it always asks if you really want to), or it's to do with icon not caching.

Either way, eventually it appears, or a reboot/relogin normally fixes it.
