Ok, just to recap, there are two current ways to get apps on your iPhone/iTouch.
Through the appstore on your phone/touch or through iTunes.
Before 2.1 and/or iTunes 8 came out, one of the "housekeeping" bugs that bothered me was that anytime you downloaded an app within iTunes and you already have that app in your library, in the app folder, you will see something like this.
Remote.app
Remote1.app
Remote2.app
etc..
Bottom line is, in the new iTunes, it is now smarter and it will actually delete the old app and installing it with the new version number. For example
Remote1.4.app
Tips1.2.app
Someapp2.5.1.app
Someappagain3.4.2.app
etc...
This is great and an improvement. However, I did notice one thing. If I installed an app through the iPhone and then transferred it into iTunes.
I would get something like this.
Remote1.4.app (already in iTunes)
Remote.app (came from the iPhone)
Overall, Remote.app should have delete Remote1.4.app because technically Remote.app is the new version. In addition to that, the new Remote.app doesn't follow the naming convention. In other words, it should have deleted Remote1.4.app and left it with Remote1.5.app.
Make sense?
So, I'll ask, anyone experiencing the same thing?
