Installing Big Sur in Parallels 16

Can an existing Catalina VM be upgraded to Big Sur by enrolling the VM in the beta program without impacting the Mac that is running Parallels?

EDIT - I just saw that currently, Parallels does not support an upgrade, only a new install.

I followed the instructions here and created a Big Sur VM: https://kb.parallels.com/en/125105

My Mac Mini running Catalina was not affected. A major limitation is that with Parallels 16 running on Catalina, the Big Sur VM is limited to a 1024 by 768 display resolution. I don't think they have committed to a fix.
