I recently had the urge to start playing Diablo II again.

I bought my MacBook Pro last summer, and installed Snow Leopard 10.6.2.

I have both the original game's disks and the expansion's. When I insert the first installation CD, I need to manually open its folder and click the Diablo II Installer file... At this point, a pop-up window appears saying that the file cannot be opened because the Classical environment feature is no longer supported. I've heard about this, but isn't there any way to install it despite that?

Thanks.

The installer on your CD does not work in OS X. To use the CDs to install in OS X, you'll need the updated installer. You can get it from here
http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/diablo2/patches/Mac/Diablo_II_Installer.dmg
(be sure to select to install LoD straight away, an upgrade install will not work later)

Once it's installed, to avoid troubles running it, patch it to the latest version from here
http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/diablo2exp/patches/Mac/LOD Patcher 112a (Carbon).zip

Thank you.

Diablo I?

Hello,
I found your thread extremely useful in downloading Diablo II to Snow Leopard (it totally worked!) and I am very appreciative for that. Is there a similar way to be able to play Diablo I on Snow Leopard? I have the disk and get the same message about the classic environment not being supported.

Thank you for your help.
