I have an HP Photosmart 7350 printer.

I have downloaded the corret software and run the installation, however, it does not appear in the list of HP printers in printer setup; printer model.

It the application; utlities section; the HP Printer Selector says that: This printer is not setup for printing in printer setup utility.

Any advice?

Is the printer connected and on?
Did you restart the computer? Power cycle both the printer and the computer.
Is the cable good?

Stuped questions, but sometimes I miss the obvious.

On the system profiler under USB it is listed (not under printer).

The printer bowser does recognize it as well (USB, name, serial number)

I have reinstalled the software, no change.

Am using 10.4 with updates.

Sorry to be a pain, does not work.

Do I need to place the hp photosmart web.sit file anywhere special?

Lets try a few things.

Your in the Admin account, right? It shouldn't mater, but perhaps it does.
Your installing so every account can use it, correct?
If you go to MS word, and try to print a document, does it give you the option of Adding a printer?

If so, does it now appear?

[EDIT]
Is it on a network? If so is shareing enabled?
What installable options are selected. It appears under printers, with in the Sys Prefs, so click on the printer and see if something odd is selected.

Wish I could be more help.

I only have one account.

Test Drive does not allow you to print......

I already have Word on my work PC and am going to do without at home, maybe I should take the money I have saved and get a new printer that works with my mac;)

Thanks for your time and help anyway!

Photosmart installation on Intel Mac

After many days of searching and trying I found an acceptable solution.

In case anybody cares:

1. Uninstall all HP Software (it simply won't work, for me anyway)
2. Select the HP Deskjet 900 series Gimp-Print... found in the drop down menu under HP.
3. Print

There are no options for printing (draft, colour, etc), but it is certainly better than no printing at all.

Mac Mini Core Duo 1,66 1GB RAM Mac OS X (10.4.6)

With my Epson printer, using the Epson driver, I need to select "Epson USB" for the port, rather than just "USB". HP's drivers are possibly similar.

Edit: I see that you have an Intel system. Maybe HP's driver hasn't been updated for Intel yet.
