I've got this HP "all in one" C3150 printer. It's got a scanner built into it, and card readers and such.

I don't really need it to do anything but print, and scan. Right now OSX recognizes it and can print, but I can't use the scanner, which I know I'll eventually need.

But, installing this 100 meg HP software package off their website just gives me a bad feeling. I really don't want some piece of crap bloatware infecting my system just so I can access the scanner on this overly "user friendly" printer.

Any opinions on this?

Buy another scanner.They're cheap.

Plus the HP software might not be a UB causing the program to behave sluggishly,
