installing ide drive on beige g3

I tried to install a drive on puter on the chain that goes to my cd drive. In system profiler I could see the hardrive but not on the desktop! How do I add another ide drive to my computer?

I own a Beige G3 and have changed original HD by one with 30GB plus another with 10GB. No problem at all if you follow the instructions.
