Installing imovie 08 but keeping 06?

Hi all,
I have ilife 06 installed on my MBP. I bought 08 with intent to use the new iphoto and imovie. I have read a lot of mixed reviews about missing features and things between imovie 06 and 08, so I am wondering if it is possible to have both applications installed simultaneously. I just want to have maximum flexibility and it seems like this would be a helpful way incase i discover some of the bugs and issues interrupt my work as well.

Any help or walk through on keeping both programs usable would be helpful!

iMovieHD can be kept alongside the new one, and Apple are even offering it as a free download

it will be kept by default on a another folder under Applications
