I think so yeah as long as you have your original ipsw from your earlier update you can duf your phone and restore! I didn't have mine and took the risk

Not downgrade. I am referring to the "Set up as a new iPhone" vs "Restore from a backup" option.

oh yeah..im sorry. i restored just fine from the backup i made right before i went to ios5
