Installing IOS 5GM-Windows 7-Verizon0-CDMA

I was able to locate the file and have a copy of the IPSW. I was able to extract the dmg.file. I am just not sure how to install it..

I tried to do it in Itunes by hitting Alt and restoring from an image, but it just started downloading 4.2.10 from the Apple site.

Can it be installed using Windows 7? If so, what do I need?
Any assistance is appreciated.

Now I have gotten over that hump...I am still not sure what I am doing wrong. The file is in my documents folder, but it is not showing up in the Itunes explorer when I go to find the file. I renamed the file .ispw...Any idea what is going on?

You have to get the IPSW out of the DMG.

I did..I downloaded a program called 7 -zip..the file is around 890 MB unzippzed..?

It appears you did something wrong in your attempt to get at an illegal beta. Why not wait until October 12th?

I know..I am bored...I am disappointed I cannot update to 4S until December..so I wanted to at least do this..
