I bought my child an ipod nano for Christmas. Neither of us have any experience with ipods at all. I bought an app from the ipod store. It's an "ipa" file. I now realize I have no app section on my ipod in which to install this app. Would this file go under the Game section, or do the ipa files only play on iPod Touch? I had been thinking apps = games and iPod Touch = iPod Nano, but I realize from a little on-line searching that they are different, but I am still uncertain of the differences and what exactly I can add to my iPod Nano (if not ipa files, then what kind?) Thanks for your patience with my ignorence and any help you can give.

Unfortunately, the nano doesn't play any of the apps from the app store, only the games that are specifically made for the nano. I'm not familiar with games for the nano since I've never bought one, perhaps you can ask for further help in the ipods/itunes subforum.

IPA is for the Touch.

You need to, under the App Store "tab" in iTunes, click on the "iPod Click Wheel Games" to get ones that work on the Nano.

I can say that Peggle, Sims Bowling & Asphalt are my kids favorites of what we own of them! And that is all 3 of them - ages 5, 10 & 13. They got their Nano's last year for CHristmas - and all these are still being played! The oldest also enjoys Trivial Pursuit - often trying to stump me. HA :D
