Installing Leopard?

Maybe a stupid question, but can I leave it installing for a few hours -- I need to run out, that won't hurt anything will it?

Leopard hasn't had any ill effects on my MacBook. Though my dad does seem to have a wifi problem with Leopard on his MacBook Pro whenever it goes to sleep.
