Help please,

I have downloaded the update setup.dmg, when I double click it I have 'Adobepatchinstaller.app' and a file called 'payloads'.

I have moved the app to the Applications folder.

When I try to open it it takes me back to the last web page I was on.

I have tried uninstalling Lightroom 6 but it will not let me.

TIA

Dave

Lightroom 6.1 only works with the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom. Update using the Creative Cloud application itself, rather than running the update installer.
If you are using the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom, you actually should be able to update by running the Adobe Patch Installer from the dmg. Do not relocate it before trying to run, just double click the dmg, then double click the patch installer.

Many thanks, all is clear now.

I'm running a stand alone LR6 therefore cannot update.

There is an update to 6.0.1, which you may or may not have already. You should be able to get it just by checking from updates via the help menu, if you don't.

This is basically the worst of both worlds - Adobe is still selling the "perpetual"/stand-alone version of LR but isn't delivering updates/patches/features to the non-CC version.

Adobe has been very clear regarding the retail version. They will provide patches and updated camera support to the retail version, but it won't include any new features (ex - dehaze slider) that are in the Creative Cloud version.

Were they clear on this from the beginning? I don't remember seeing any significant difference between the two versions when I bought the standalone one when LR6 was released. I'll likely be asking for a refund or just dispute the charge on my CC. Can't wait to switch to something else.
