Installing Lion on external drive, and booting off it on another system.

Hello. I'm a newcomer to OS X.

I was wondering, is it possible to install Lion on an external drive (Mac OS Extended Journaled formatted) from my MBP, and then booting off it from a 2011 iMac? Are the drivers all in the OS already?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question. Thanks in advance.

It should work. Just give it a try....
