Installing Lion, problem

I am sure this already been discussed, but I couldn't find an answer on my search through the forums.

I d/l Lion today and the installer is saying that I cannot install on my main startup disc which has 10.6.8. My drive is partitioned.

I am sure there is something I have missed, so advice is welcome.
