Hi all,

I am trying to install 9.2.2 on my 1.25Ghz eMac.

The first thing I'd need to understand is if the disk was formatted with os9 drivers or not...

Is there a command or program to check it?

In case I am unlucky and I have to format again...
Is there a way to backup my current OS X installation, format and then restore it into a partition?

Thanks for your help :)

Yes - you can use Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! to backup your OS X install (partition) and restore it after repartitioning. Easy as pie :)

Can you post the output of running sudo pdisk -l /dev/disk0 in Terminal? That should show whether OS 9 drivers (which are just a tiny partition iirc) are present or not.
