Hi, I've recently learned that installing matlab leads to a particular error: "There are no products available to install". And this is a solution:

1) Under the Safari menu tab I selected "preferences", and in the window that popped up I UN -checked the box that says "Open 'safe' files after downloading." This allowed Safari to download the files without unzipping them. 2) I moved the files from the download folder to my target installation folder and unzipped ONLY the installer file. 3) I moved the other zip files inside the unzipped installer folder and 4) double-clicked "InstallForMacOSX".

After step 1, it all goes bad. After the download this is a zip file. In the zip file are a bunch of folders and individual files:
archives
bin
etc
help
InstallForMacOSX
java
sys
activate.ini
install install_guide.pdf
installer_input.txt
license.txt
patents.txt
readme.txt
trademarks.txt

Extracting the InstallForMacOSX gets the installer but this fails to work as it won't open. What's the solution to this?
