Like it says i need step by step insrtuctions on how to get the old cd drive out and the new one in. If you can get pics too that would be alot better please i need help. Thanks

Which Mac, there are quite a few different models that have been produced since the mid 1980s.

Some can use internal CD/DVD drives, some can't, and some require slot loading drives.

**** my bad its a gigabit ethernet powermac g4 tower please i need to knoe soon HELLLLLLP

Accelerate Your Mac has some info on it as well. They have a drive compatibility database, too. Just put in your model and what you want to use, and it will give you reports from other users. Though it's pretty easy. Just take the cover off, unscrew the old drive, pull it out, stick in the new one. Most of your standard drives will work, but some require a program like Patchburn for iLife compatibility.
