Installing new HDD in Macbook pro - please help

All,

I'm looking to replace the HDD on ma macbook pro.

I have purchased the correct HDD and physically installed it, howeer when trying to book from the Mac OS X install disk by pressing C while booting, nothing is happening.

the new hdd is unformatted as yet

any ideas

Please help

Some questions, which might help:
• Do you hear the disk drive spinning up at boot?
• Are you sure the disk works (have you had it in a machine that works)?

If the answers here are yes and yes, then:
• Are you sure you reconnected all cables etc. (when you changed drives)?
