Thanks in advance for any info anyone might have to offer!

I think I lost my box set Snow Leopard disc, that I bought before purchasing a new (2009) iMac. I'd now like to put Snow Leopard on an older iMac (maybe 2005? I don't know, it's in our shop and I'm not, lol). Currently the computer is running Leopard and is a Core Duo. The new iMac is an i7.

Can I use the install discs from the new computer on the old one? And will that wipe out any files/data?

Sorry if this is a dumb question! I looked but can't find the answer. It's a trip and a half to that location, so I'd like to know before I waste a day.

Install discs only work with the model of Mac they shipped with - it will not work.
