Hi, my current superdrive has stopped working, so i bought a new Pioneer DVR-109 superdrive for my G4 imac. I would like to install it on my own since my local apple store says that they don't do superdrive repairs (thanks a lot). I really haven't found any articles on how to do this except for the one on xlr8yourmac.com, but i was wondering if anyone of you have done this on your own and how hard it is. If anyone could tell me how to do this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Kevin.

There was a time when you could find the apple repair manuals online, but that time has passed. As far as instructions go, the xlr8yourmac guide is as good as you're going to find. It guided me well when I replaced the superdrive in my iMac G4. Many people have contributed to the xlr8yourmac guide and it seems to cover the procedure well. You can do it your self, just have some confidence going into it.
