i cannot boot off my INSTALL CD pressing C key.
I cannot boot off of the Tech tool pro disc either.
i am getting erratic behaviour on the G5 10.2.8
2 GB RAM with CUBASE SL 1.06 and hypersonic.
this behaviour is insidious not constant.
I ran hardware tests all passed!
I have the main HD and another ATA internal drive ( 160GB) along with an external LACIE drive. Cant i put OS X.2.8 on them and then boot off their disc and then repair the original HD's problem. It sounds doable to me but i need help
thanks

I don't know why you can't boot from CD, but assuming the cd drive is working you can insert the OS install disk, select that as the startup disk in System Preferences, and then install the OS onto either or both of your other drives.

By the way, you can save time if you can just boot from the CD to fix your hard drive. Have you tried setting that as the startup disk in System Preferences yet? If the C key doesn't work, then that should.
