installing OSX on non apple hardware

ok guys i mentioned this a while ago and having looked into it on my new system there some question over hardware compatability with mac osx if i install it as a hackintosh so i was wondering if there is anyway i can tgrial the os out and check how my hardware copes without having to buy the os first?

do apple do trial versions of their os?

No trial versions of Mac OS X exist. I suggest looking at looking at http://www.osx86project.org/ for some hardware compatibility.

Fortunately the OS is only $30, so it's no big loss if you can't make it work.
