How does one go about installing OSX (Panther) on an SAS RAID 0 volume?

I'm going to buy a Mac Pro (hopefully after MWSF) and I was wondering if you can use the restore discs to install a fresh OS on a new volume or if you have to buy an actual full copy of whatever OS.

I can't answer the first question, but I can tell you that as long as you're doing it from the computer the restore disks are for, you should have no problems installing to a completely fresh volume. It just won't work if you try to boot a different machine from those discs--it'll give an error about unsupported machines.
