Installing Sims Nightlife w/o original Sims 2 disk????

So i have The Sims 2 installed on my PC, and got the Nightlife expansion pack. I went to install it but i lost my original Sims 2 DVD, and it says i need it to install the expansion pack. Is there any way to get around this, for i have the Sims 2 installed, but can not find the disk. I don't want to have to go out and buy the Sims 2 again, just to install the expansion pack.

If you've got your registration number for the original game, maybe you can call the publisher and see if it can help you out?
