yeah, it required a change to a config file or something, but that might have changed. vp 6 emulates a certain pentium chip, that is not compatible with what you want to install, or at lease with Solaris 9 when I tried it. There is a website out there that some guy tried every OS with vpc 6 and how to do the config change.
The problem is not the pentium chip, Solaris checks for geniuneintel or authenticAMD, you can change the install iso to check for connectixPC so that the install would start my problem was more with the graphics card/drivers.
