I am trying to install "The Movies" game on a intel 20" iMac running OS 10.5 (Leopard).

During the install I receive the following error: "Error creating folder 1008:9-5000 access denied error". I am then told that I do not have sufficient provelages to install (despite the fact that I am logged on as the administrator).

Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

I'll try to elaborate a little more.
Check the console log to see if you can find the exact path where it is having trouble - there might just be a folder where you can't actually write. Fix this manually and you might be able to install.

Funny I thought the best thing would be to check the Feral website or email the support addresses. Lucky for all of you I check the forums once in a while. :)

This install issue is because Quicktime changed permissions on a few folders compared to older versions of Quicktime when the game was first released. Basically custom install the game without the Flip4Mac option and you will be fine.

For more info read the link. Oh and finally if you need help contact support or check the knowledge base on our site we are probably the best place to start!

help...

How long does it take to install The Movies? I'm using an iBook G4, OS X 10.4.11. When I try to install The Movies only, It says: Items Remaining to be installed: 0. And under the percentage/time bar is the word: Copying. If I try to install The Movies and Flip4Mac, It says: Items remaining to be installed: 86. And under the bar again it says: Copying. I've been waiting for nearly an hour and it's still like that. Is something wrong?

Are you sure it is an hour? The game is about 4+GB and on older machines with slower DVD drives this can take quite a while although an hour does seem a little excessive.

I would let the installer run on Movies only and see what happens. It should install correctly even if it takes a while.

I'm having same problem

I meet your exact specifications and I am having the identical problem with my game. I see that your post is a few months old but I was wondering if you ended up figuring out how to solve the problem.

The movies is a very large game and takes some time to install. If you are finding that the installation process is stalling at either 68 items or 0 items then this is normal. Please leave the installer to carry on working as it is copying over very large files at this point and interrupting it will cause the game to cancel the installation, (which is never good).

The installation for the Movies can take up to 30 minutes (some people have claimed longer) depending on the speed of your DVD drive, so please be patient. If after this time you still find the game is not completely installed then please email our support team (address in the Game, Read Me, FAQ & Manual) and someone from the support team will assist you further.

Hey, i have been having trouble with the movies as well. after i installed it onto my mac i clicked "the movies" icon and then pressed play and then i am given a message that says "the application movies quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the zoniclib plug-in.

Contact support via email and see if you can send in a Support Report (see manual or read me for more information).

It sounds like a bad install to me but support will be able to help you.
