Yes, I need help!

I decided to kill a Panther and put a new Tiger on my old iMac in order to keep it at the minimum system requirements of most of software today. Many apps should run on it, but only at macosx 10.4 minimum.

But, of course, my old old Mac does not have a FireWire port, so the installer aborts saying that it cant be installed, see documentation, bla bla bla.

Well, I'd put the HD (so easy take it out of the CPU...) in a external case and plug it on my MacMini. My idea was install on volume mounted by USB port. First, system does not start up from CD. Why? Well, I try running it anyway from inside of Leopard, but the answer from installer was the same: cannot be installed!

So I think - maybe because it's an Intel Core 2 Duo: is not listed as a supported machine by Apple. I'm out of Macs, one is to old, other is to new! I'm out of ideas...

Is there a way to install it on a non suported Mac? Is there some... well... application to make it happens?
