Installing tiger woods masters problem

I have a DVD copy of tiger woods masters for mac and pc! Put the DVD in and open the mac install file and installer opens. Go through usual of accepting terms and conditions then put admin password in, then install starts. But it gets to the writing files part and just stops, the DVD just spins, no files are written to the hard drive and the progress bar does not increase! Even if left for half an hour. Have checked and cleaned DVD nothing obvious on it. It's brand new. Any ideas? Am on mountain lion.....
