I know that officially you can't go beyond 10.6.8 on a Core Duo, but I have a 2006 MBP lying around that I'd like to give to my daughter, and I'm happy to experiment with installing an unsupported version of OSX to make it a bit more functional.

I've seen YT videos explaining how to install Lion on a Core Duo machine, but can I go further? Can I get Mountain Lion on there? Is there an equivalent to MLPostFactor for Core Duo machines?
