I updated my system to OSX 10.7.3 (combined update) yesterday and within minutes of rebooting it became clear that this has wrecked my iTunes/AppleTV connection.
It all *looks* fine: iTunes is up and running, my WiFi is fine, AppleTV displays a list of my programs, but after letting it sit idle for about 5-8 minutes I can no longer choose any shows - it just spins until it goes to sleep. I then have to stop iTunes, restart and try again.
I found a thread over at discussions.apple.com stating the same thing from February, but as expected, Apple does not even acknowledge the problem, so who knows how long it will be before the problem is fixed.

If only I could roll back to what I had two days ago, I'd avoid another system update for at least another 6 months.
