Hi I got 6 cds with my hp pavillion pc. Can I use these cds with bootcamp to install windows onto the mac? Or do ineed to buy a new copy of windows?
The cd is called WinXP Home edition disc x and on top it says system recovery.
The disc is called TESTHP17 when i insert it into my disc drive.
Thanks.

Insert the CD/DVD and restart your Mac and hold down the Option/Alt key shortly after the start up sound chimes and see if you can identify the CD/DVD in the following boot selector.

If so, it might work.

on top it says system recovery.

RED ALERT

You might be able to get these discs to install Windows on your Mac, but you will likely lose OS X in the process. These discs are designed to bring your HP back to factory conditions, which (obviously) did not include OS X.

Proceed at your own risk.
