I got a new M2 MacBook Air that I haven’t opened yet.

I would like to know that since it’s new, should I still do a clean install or is it not necessary?

Thank you!

Since you haven’t put any user data on the machine yet, there isn’t anything to delete! It is already “clean”. Just do a normal Ventura install.upgrade.

No need to do a clean install on a blank MacBook!!!

I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I was wondering because I wasn’t sure files from Monterey would remain or something would be better replaced during a clean install that wouldn’t happen when doing a normal upgrade.

Yeah, every Monterey file will be removed and replaced with the Ventura ones.

What do you think will happen? System Prefrences left inside of Ventura?
