I need to do a clean install on my phone. Does anyone know if the beta IPSW file can be installed via iTunes on Windows? Any special instructions? I believe on a Mac you need to have xcode installed but what about Windows? I have already downloaded the beta iOS 18 IPSW file from the Apple developer site. Thanks.

The device support drivers don’t exist for Windows and won’t until final public release, so for now it’s OTA or via a Mac.

iTunes 12.13.2.3 which is the latest version for Windows [not the Microsoft Store version] can only be used to install IPSW of up to iOS 17.5.1

I tried to do a clean install of iOS 18 DB 1 but it asked for a newer iTunes version...

If you have a Mac, you may be able to do so... I have not tried with Catalina which is the version installed on my 15" MacBook Pro 2015 but it may work with newer versions...

Thanks all for thoughtful replies. What's the best way then to do a clean beta install without a Mac? Any ideas?

I should add that I do not need to restore from any back up. I just want a completely fresh install.

Find a friend with a Mac who will let you use their machine to do the install. If you asked me as a friend, I'd create a temporary account for you do it, knowing you couldn't do any harm to my machine without admin privileges. I'd sit beside you and authorize administrative privileges as needed. When complete, I'd delete your account and uninstall Xcode.

I Solved the issue. It's the Windows version of iTunes. Get your version straight from Apple and install it or do a repair on the Windows version from Apple, either way, use the APPLE version of iTunes. It worked immediately. I'm on Windows version 24H2 and IT WORKED!
