Hi!

My new iMac has just been sent from apple, and I've started to prepare the transfer to my new computer. I need win 7 to run some school-related software, and got the professional version through my College (64 bit).

Now I'm wondering (I've tried searching and reading up on this) if this is easily done. I've done this multiple times on my late 2008 MB. But I've read that doing it on a 27" iMac requires an external display because of some bug. At least that's how it had to be done back in early 2010. Is this still really necessary? I don't have any spare monitors except my lcd-tv, and I can't even find my mini DP adapter for it.

Appreciate all suggestions.

just use bootcamp. there shouldn't be any bugs its really easy. search "installing windows 7 on bootcamp"
ps. enjoy your mac:D

Thanks :) .

I know how easy it is if the 27" bug is fixed. Guess I'll now when it gets here. Can't wait! :D

I installed onto my 2010 27" iMac a couple months ago with no need for an external display. Couldn't have been any easier.
