i am trying to install win7 x64 ultimate edition in bootcamp on my latest imac mid 2011 i7, 3.4ghz, 12gb ram. I have created the bootcamp partition and i have the win7 installation disc. Once the computer restarts to begin setup of win7, the speed is rediculously slow, and i mean slow. it would literraly take about 5 hrs alltogether to install the windows7, and in between the screens, it usually takes about 10 minutes for each screen to appear, plus mouse is not responsive for about 5 minutes before the next step is completed. i have first tried to install win7 from snow leopard via boot camp (installation of windows was slow). i upgraded to lion OS, and the same problem is consistent, ridiculously slow installation. Even if the win7 installs successfully (after like 5 hours), its not operational at all. i am unable to install the drivers once the win7 installation fully completes, because of its no response to any commands
I have performed the installation of boot camp win7 a week earlier on my MBA (latest edition), same win7 disk via USB drive without any problems and it runs smooth. the same is not the case installing on imac 27". Any ideas?
