Installing Windows & Parallels on Mac

Hello,

I just bought Windows 7 and Parallels 7 and I am trying to figure out how to install them on my mac.

I have a 250 GB macbook pro and want to install Windows 7 on a separate partition. Does this mean my hard drive will rewrite the OS X Lion portion too? Will I have to back-up my data?

Also, I'm not sure which I should install first, Parallels or Windows 7? I want to be able to run Windows on Boot Camp as a separate OS but also be able to work from Parallels.
