So I really want to play with yosemite, but im scared of installing it on my macbook as I've read it will stop my traktor installation working properly, and I use traktor daily.

On the other had I've got a mac pro (2008) with Mavericks as its main boot drive, and my old snow leopard install on a second boot disk.

So I don't want to risk going over the main boot install (mavericks), but I wouldn't mind installing over my snow leopard install.

On my media drive I've got enough room to keep a copy of my entire snow leopard install, but how can I copy this from the installed drive, to the media drive as a disk image? Is that even possible?

If I'm then happy with the yosemite install will I be able to direct all the user document folder links to my current folders on the mavericks install?
